I've been playing around with the notion of creating a fabric art journal. Inspired by this tutorial at Shadetree, I made a page to see how it would work.
It's muslin, sewn together with a special stitch.
Once I was done, I used a Mister Huey's spray and a stencil for the background. I'm thinking maybe fabric houses but I haven't decided. In the tutorial, she bounds the entire book together and then adds her lacework to it, but that's not practical for me - what if I want to run a page through the sewing machine or embroider? So I'm thinking that individual pages, then binding when done, is the way to go.
