The end of the month

While I didn't post every day, I did create every day. (So relaxing! So fun!)

Here's creations from the last few days...

The back of a playlist for the wedding favors I made.

Some button covered paperclips that have magnets on them.

A wristlet I made. I LOVE this fabric.

Handy inside pockets, because I hate carrying a wallet!

buttons buttons everywhere

I've been making buttons for a very large custom order.

Sadly, button making is on hold while I wait on more supplies.

yesterday and today: mark them as productive

Wedding favor labels, before: (I had to make 100 of them)

Labels after:

What I did with the leftover label centers and the extra tags on the sheets: (because you can never have too many stickers.) (Can you?)

I used some more of those rub-ons from last post to make a wedding shower card:

I made this as a test tile but ended up using one of the ones I had made for testing. It was a success! Super-hot tea didn't pull any of the glue or the rub-ons off the tile, so no worries there. This one I added a hanger to and am sending it to a friend as a "happy new apartment!" gift.

his and hers

You know, I'm really having fun with the creating something every day thing. It's nice stress relief.

A friend gave me a set of rub-ons from Luxe Designs. I just used them on top of regular white tiles I'd picked up at Lowe's a long time ago turning them into coasters. I still need to put some sort of backing on (probably felt) but I like how they came out.

I coated them with Mod Podge and it just occurred to me I probably should make a test tile to see how it stands up with a teacup. Can't give a bad wedding gift.

If it doesn't work I can always turn them into wall hangings!

Birds of a feather

This was actually yesterday's project. These were today's project. Simple little foam circles covered in French seam binding and some leftover ribbons. I glued on a little bird and some flowers and viola! Instant cuteness.

In case you were looking for small wreaths, I got mine at FactoryDirectCraft.com.

Edited on 09/18: I redid the photos. Much cuter now!

Sometimes I like to let my tacky flag fly

My friend Katie, with whom I haven't met in real life but exchange frequent letters and art with, sent me this Girl Scout inspired bag she made.

Isn't it just awesome??

As my thank you, I covered the backside of a manilla folder with a stencil, colored it in with marker, then outlined it with Stickles. Inside I stapled my letter to her.

It's really kind of tacky, but I couldn't help myself. Best of all, I know she'll appreciate it.

buttons and buttons and more buttons

Just like any good crafter or seamstress (wait. can i say seamstress? i don't really make clothes but i sew.) I save usable fabric scraps because they might come in handy. This weeks handy form: button covers on bookmarks and hair clips.

These are all part of a special order I'm working on.

(I really love my vintage soap dish. So handy for photos like this!)

No, really, I have!

I have been making stuff every day for the challenge! I have! I made the create letters yesterday. The weather here has been rain all day every day for the last week so it's been hard to get good shots of everything else I've been doing. Does killing the 100 VERY LARGE grubs I found in my vegetable garden count for anything? Because there was a lot of that. (On the upside, I now know what was killing off my plants!)

It's a wrap (or chapter 100 on how i like to be organized)

Today's project: all my scrap pieces of fabric measured, rolled up, and held together with some printable fabric wraps from a blog that I cannot now find!

Edited 2 minutes later: I found it. I used Just Something I Made's fabric wrap printable!

mirror mirror on the wall

Usually I leave the mirrors to my sister, but I decided I wanted to give it a go.

Mirror: a Malma from Ikea.

A journaling we will go

Inspired by some awesome travel journals, I set out and made my own. I don't journal often anymore; I used to write all the time but unless it's a letter to a friend or relative, I don't do so anymore. (Sad, I know.) There is a part of me that wants to journal, document events and whatnot and I really got the inspiration bug when I saw Dispatch's journal.

I dug out the ephemera box and with my machine sewed together a few different sheets of paper. Layers of paper, envelopes, and old blank greeting cards to be exact.

(Pages, but my batteries died so I only got one pic!)

I took an old manilla folder and after some clever folding, I covered it with a piece of my favorite scrapbook paper. Then I ran it though my machine to give it a more put together look.

I sewed some vintage ric-rac onto the cover then sewed in my pages. I added two sets of ribbon so I can keep it tied closed. I think I am am going to sew some buttons onto the right side, but I haven't decided yet.

I think I'm going to fill in one of my pages with some receipts and jot a few lines about the boxes I sent for IBOL. I think it's a great start.

Thank you

I am still in my use as much of what I have as I can phase and last weekend's closet cleaning adventure led me to a box of blank cards in different colors. I put some into the new shop and turned some of the leftovers into thank you cards to send with orders. (We already had our first sale!)

I used my Martha Stewart Christmas stamps for the front and then a tiny alphabet set for the back. The trio of flowers is a wooden stamp from I don't know where. I like how they came out; more and more I'm liking the stark look of black on a bright color.

I hate being short

Today's project: hand stamp the labels for a friend's wedding favors I've been working on.

The plan had been to stamp their names and the date of the wedding on each label, only I didn't have the right size stamps for that. Too big, too clunky. So I switched tactics. I think they are cute and very simple, but they weren't what I had in my head.

Even better? I thought I ordered 106...and just discovered there are only 47 in the batch. So now I have to reorder. So much for a simple and quick project!

where i realize i don't blog every day

My last post was about how I've decided to do the craft-a-day challenge...then I remembered that I don't blog every day! No worries, though. Even if I dash off a short entry, I will be posting. I've been wanting to get into this blog a little more anyhow.

My partner-in-crime and I have started a shop on Etsy destashing a lot of our supplies (!). She found these vintage tins and we turned them into card kits. They were in dire need of remaking as they were rusty!

This was yesterdays kit: a Christmas tin:

This was today's, a love spell kit:

Of course, I have to plug our new shop. If you are in need of supplies, hit us up!
