catching up

No, I didn't disappear. I've just been in half a lazy-stupor and half working on my flower pot and vegetable gardens.

I have, though, made a few things recently.

Bobby pins, which are in my shop:

A paper mache sign for a swap. It's really the first time I've done letters like this, with the paper and the embellishments. I loved how it came out, though, and my partner adores it.

I'm slowly getting back into working, but it's hard when all you want to do is lounge and read!

bobby pins?

Bobby pins made with little brads I cut the backs off of. (I love doing that.) I really like using paint chips for my hair clips...I have tons and they made a convenient board for them. I put a whole mess of these in my shop...

It's about the only creative thing I've done this week! I got a notice from the state saying I didn't file my business taxes and now owe $1400 in fees. So I've been sorting receipts and getting my sales list together...$1400 for the two months my tax id officially covers...when I only sold $51 worth of stuff...you can see where my energy is going. I'm protesting the fees (how can I file if they never even sent my tax i.d. number/certificate??) and am going to go from there. Wish me luck!

(I think I really need to work on a project or two!)

Custom orders and Pay it Forwards, oh my.

Costume jewelry found in the garage...and used for hair clips. The picture doesn't do it it justice, not really, but I love the pink pearls (left side). They actually ended up being great hair clips once I was done with them...

I love them as hair clips and I hope they make it safely to SF, where they'll be sold in a shop there. I had the worst time trying to find the right glue to make them work, but I think I finally got it when I went with some Liquid Nails meant to put fabric to metal.

I had the genius idea of packaging them on empty button cards...it just gives them more of a vintage feel, don't you think?

I got this in the mail yesterday...isn't it spectacular, despite my poor picture taking skills?

I got it as a Pay it Forward from Raspberry...and I was blown away when I opened it to look at it. It's so delicate and soft and just fantastic...I'm so excited to have it hanging on my wall!

Now to find someone to PIF...and a new tutorial to try!
